The Infamous Masterson’s , located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , promotes itself as a chic “hipster” locale , but my unfortunate encounter at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may seem appealing from the exterior , what I discovered behind its walls was disturbing and far below any standard .
The Condition of the Premises : Filthy and Disregarded
From the moment I crossed the threshold, it was clear that cleanliness was not a priority at this bar . The floors were sticky , and a nauseating aroma of uncleaned spills and filthy restrooms polluted the entire pub. Emitting a scent of a mixture of ammonia , old age and sickness . The serving zone , which should be the focal point of any pub, was littered with unwashed glassware and refuse that looked like it had been ignored for a long time . The restroom was in even worse condition —overflowing , with a broken handle and surfaces marked in what I can only assume was human excrement .
